Introducing a new kids’ show character whose activities are decidedly not for young viewers.
RUE MORGUE got the first look at the teaser trailer for MITTENS, described as a mix of “supernatural horror, dark comedy and twisted childhood nostalgia.” Written and directed by Louis Rocky Bacigalupo and produced by Oliver Ricketts, Paul Travers (DIRECTOR’S CUT) and Sam Jacobs, it stars Arina Bacigalupo, Zoe Hudson Travers, Kellin Quinn (frontman of platinum-selling rock band Sleeping With Sirens), Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter and THE VOICE winner Cassadee Pope and Bridget Rose Perrotta. The synopsis: “The story follows Alice [Bacigalupo], an emotionally stilted woman fighting for custody of her stepdaughter, Kat [Travers]. As a child, Alice was captivated by COUNTRY STUART’S FUN FUN HOUSE, a seemingly wholesome, MR. ROGERS-esque television program whose colorful host [Quinn] and cast of imaginary friends held an unsettling grip on her. Her favorite was Mittens, a stuffed cat who became her closest companion, but violence followed. Thirty years later, the stress of a custody battle brings Mittens back into Alice’s life, forcing her to confront the disturbing connection between her old friend, Country Stuart, and a past that may not have been imaginary after all.”
