Sneakcares Launches Hand Painted “Saw” Sneakers for Nearly $400

Hand painted custom sneakers featuring Jigsaw and Billy the puppet designs from Saw, by Sneakcares

Sneakcares, the Indonesia based custom sneaker studio that has hand painted pairs for horror and genre fans since 2014, has added a Saw inspired pair built around John Kramer‘s Jigsaw killer persona and his ventriloquist dummy proxy, Billy the puppet.

The sneakers, listed as Custom Sneakers Billy and Jigsaw, carry Billy’s signature red spiral cheeks, scattered jigsaw pieces and “play me” lettering hand painted directly onto the shoe, a design the studio shared to its social channels this week. Each pair is painted to order on synthetic leather uppers, with the studio quoting seven to fourteen days total for production, colour approval and tracked worldwide shipping.

Pricing runs close to $400: the pair is listed at $385 through Sneakcares’ Etsy storefront, SneakcaresTeam, with a matching listing at a regional equivalent price on the brand’s own site. It is worth flagging plainly that these are unofficial, fan made sneakers. Sneakcares is not a credited licensee of the companies behind the Saw franchise, and the shoes read as an independent artist’s tribute rather than approved merchandise.

That has not dampened demand. The studio says it has hand painted more than five thousand pairs of custom sneakers since 2014, with past designs riffing on other horror properties including Scream and Child’s Play, and the Saw pair drew quick attention, with some sizes already showing as unavailable on the brand’s direct site as of this writing.

Buyers who want in should expect the usual made to order caveats: no change of mind returns or exchanges, since each pair is painted after the order is placed, though Sneakcares says it will handle damaged items reported with photos within seven days of delivery. For Saw devotees who have already worn out their Jigsaw themed hoodie, it is a way to bring a little of John Kramer’s workshop onto the street, one brushed spiral at a time.
