Jack O’Connell Reveals He and Cillian Murphy Play Brothers in “A Quiet Place Part III”

Jack O’Connell has revealed a new detail about his upcoming role in A Quiet Place Part III. Speaking with Collider at the Newport Beach Film Festival, O’Connell said, “Cillian and I play brothers. There was a real familial feel to that one.” It is the clearest hint yet at how the two actors’ characters connect inside John Krasinski‘s third chapter of the hushed, white-knuckle survival franchise, now in production.

Murphy returns as Emmett, the wary survivalist he introduced in A Quiet Place Part II. Exactly how O’Connell’s character fits into that family tree, and how he enters the story, is still under wraps.

Joining the returning trio of Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, the new film also brings in Katy O’Brian and Jason Clarke alongside O’Connell and Murphy. Krasinski, who created the franchise and has directed every mainline entry, is again writing and directing.

A Quiet Place Part III is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 30, 2027, through Paramount. The series began as a tightly wound indie thriller about a family hiding from sound hunting creatures, and has since expanded into a multi film mythology spanning A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place Part II and the spinoff A Quiet Place: Day One. Murphy, who has built a reputation for prestige work since his Oscar win and horror cred dating back to 28 Days Later, joins O’Connell, a Sinners veteran, in a cast that is quietly becoming one of the more pedigreed ensembles in modern horror.

No teaser or production stills have surfaced publicly but fans have one new thread to chew on: whatever menace is coming for this story’s family, it seems to run in the blood.
