Suspiria-stylized “MANNEQUIN HAUS” Currently Funding on Indiegogo

It’s because of the support of the horror community that we’re able to watch all the wonderful things that indie filmmakers create. And if an arthouse film about evil lesbian fashion witches infused with a classic ‘70s genre style is your thing, then MANNEQUIN HAUS is your next watch.

There’s just one small hiccup – the film hasn’t been finished yet. But you can change that.

Accomplished author and filmmaker Kourtnea Zinov’yevna’s first feature is a few dollars shy of crossing the finish line. 90% of the project is already wrapped and editing is underway, but there’s still a day of filming left to complete, and the director has launched a call-to-action on Indiegogo for fans who “like weird shit.”

The narrative follows Opal, a miniaturist, who becomes enamored with the elusive and famous fashion designer, Mauve. Mauve is rumored to be a witch, and Opal soon finds out that those rumors have quite a bit of truth to them as she visits her magical shop and discovers that her mannequins are a bit more lifelike than what meets the eye. Utilizing an all-female cast and predominately female crew, the film aims to blend the visual styles of Suspiria and 1977’s horror-comedy House, with melting gore reminiscent of movies like Hellraiser and The Fly.

While financial pledges of any amount are appreciated and will help Zinov’yevna’s vision come to fruition, select amounts will be rewarded with VHS copies of the finished product and screen-worn props, among other gifts.
