Hallenbeck‘s 2022 book, The Kinderhook Creature and Beyond, the film recounts a string of inexplicable encounters with a bizarre, apelike creature that plagued the citizens of bucolic Kinderhook, New York, throughout the 1980s. Featuring recreations and personal recollections by Hallenback and others personally affected by the phenomenon, THE KINDERHOOK CREATURE examines the intersection of history, folklore and reality as never before.
