Don’t Bleed Out in “TOTAL CHAOS”: Screenshots and Release Details

Harkening the lurid imagery reminiscent of Xbox 360 launch title Condemned: Criminal Origins while incorporating a resource management system into the first-person bludgeoning aesthetic, developer Trigger Happy Interactive has announced TOTAL CHAOS, a new horror title set to release on Steam July 24, 2025. Publishing is headed up by Apogee Entertainment.

From the press release:

“TOTAL CHAOS, a relentless survival horror experience developed by Trigger Happy Interactive (the New Zealand-based creator of Turbo Overkill) and published by Apogee Entertainment, descends into madness on July 24, 2025, on PC via Steam. For those daring enough, a special VR edition will be included with the base game for an even closer brush with terror.

Awaken to a living nightmare as a wayward Coastguardsman, adrift at sea and slipping into a fractured reality. Take refuge on the haunted shores of Fort Oasis, a long-abandoned coal mining community cloaked in mist and decay. Venture ahead with only one guide: a distant, crackling voice on a walkie-talkie. But can it be trusted?

The remnants of a forgotten world now hide unspeakable horrors in the shadows. Navigate warped sights and eerie echoes while scavenging for vital supplies and crafting materials in abandoned apartments, crumbling facilities, rusted corridors and foreboding graveyards.

Survive a psychologically damaging gauntlet of grotesque human-monster hybrids. Move unpredictably as the abominations observe player behavior, mimicking movements and attack patterns. Keep a tight grip on reality … Monitor health, fatigue, bleeding wounds and hunger while the Madness system warps the mind. Hallucinations blur the line between real and unreal, as shifting walls and hidden passageways reveal valuable loot, guarded by horrors best left undiscovered.”

As mentioned, included is a special VR iteration of the title for those gamers brave enough to tackle the horrors of a derelict abandoned mining town in total immersion. PC gamers currently have until March 3rd to experience the TOTAL CHAOS demo, as a part of Steam Next Fest.
