Exclusive comments: Vérité horror will soon be FOUND on a dedicated streaming network

Soon there will be one place to go to view hundreds of found-footage fright films.

Toronto-based producers Louie La Vella and Monica La Vella will launch FOUND, a streaming service and FAST channel devoted to found-footage horror, in October, dropping a new film on each of its 31 days. The platform will ultimately showcase hundreds of titles covering all manner of vérité fear fare, including mock documentaries, screenlife movies, POV features and more, and give fans the opportunity to engage with and celebrate these movies.

The La Vellas have experience with the form, having released the screenlife chiller INVITED with Terror Films. “Being filmmakers ourselves,” Monica says, “we know the ins and outs of filmmaking and want to be able to support fellow filmmakers and all our dedicated fans with one platform that’s truly involved in the genre.”

They also have plans to expand beyond the digital world to bring these movies to theaters. Says Louie, “We know that fans are not only going to theaters for blockbusters and A-list actors; they want to enjoy the movies they love on the big screen. As the FOUND brand grows, we will be partnering with independent cinemas to bring found-footage classics and new releases to a curated monthly event on the big screen.”

FOUND will be available on web, mobile, Apple TV, Google TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, LG and Samsung televisions. Fans can sign up to get on the waiting list at the streamer’s official website.
