The “THE UNRAVELING” Is Coming!

THE UNRAVELING, the latest psychological thriller from filmmakers Kd Amond and Sarah Zanotti has just been acquired for distribution by Entertainment Squad through its genre label, The Horror Collective. Set for an autumn release, THE UNRAVELING is the second feature from the creative team, following their acclaimed 2022 one-woman horror film, Faye.

Directed by Amond and co-written by Zanotti, who also stars, the film is described as a “chilling and deeply emotional exploration of trauma, paranoia, guilt, and love, through the lens of horror.” Zanotti portrays a woman who suffers a brain injury in a devastating car crash. Convinced her husband has been replaced by an imposter, she finds herself in an unending nightmare, haunted by a sinister presence and mysterious phone calls from someone claiming to be her “real” spouse. Trapped in a mental maze of terror and deception, she clings to the tenuous threads of her increasingly fragile sanity.

“With THE UNRAVELING, we aimed to explore the dark and often overlooked aspects of trauma and its effects on the human psyche,” Amond says. There are spiritual undertones throughout the film as well, Sarah and I often incorporate these themes into our storytelling; it adds another layer of intrigue. Entertainment Squad’s dedication to unique and impactful storytelling truly makes them the perfect partner for this project.”

“What happens when the dream you’re chasing suddenly becomes a nightmare? When the man you love suddenly becomes your enemy? When you can no longer recognize what’s true because you’re so used to living a lie?” Zanotti muses, adding, “THE UNRAVELING is about a woman who is coming to terms with the horrifying consequences of denial.”

The Horror Collective will release THE UNRAVELING on October 8. Keep an eye on RUE MORGUE for more details.
