When word got out that Nicolas Cage was positioned as the next character drop in the widely successful Dead by Daylight, gamers were interested, if not perplexed. Horror icons are the essence of what has lured over 50 million players into The Fog since the game’s release seven years ago but never before has a real person found themselves struggling at the end of one of The Entity’s sacrificial hooks.
While the upcoming “NICOLAS CAGE CHAPTER” marks the first time a public figure has stepped into Behaviour Interactive’s digital killing fields, it’s also the first time Cage has portrayed himself in a game as a fictionalized representation tricked out with all the essential DbD lore.

The “NICOLAS CAGE CHAPTER” officially hits on July 25th, but until then, PC gamers can give the new character a test drive with the Public Test Build through Steam. Details about Survivor perks include:
- With Dramaturgy, players will allow their instincts to take over during moments of heightened intensity. They might not be able to predict the outcome, but that’s what makes it so thrilling, isn’t it?
- Every actor needs a Scene Partner. When using the Perk, staring at the Killer will grant players deeper insight into their process, allowing them to better anticipate their next move.
- A Plot Twist in the third act can really breathe new life into film and Trial alike. Players will use their second-to-none acting ability to get deeper into character than ever before, making a bold decision that’s as risky as it is rewarding.
Cage’s commitment to the role didn’t stop at merely lending his likeness to a digital representation of himself. The DLC’s press release reveals that the actor also laid down lines of original dialog:

Nicolas Cage is available to play in the Public Test Build Now, on Steam only. The “NICOLAS CAGE CHAPTER” will be available for purchase on July 25th, 2023, at 12:00 PM EDT alongside the exclusive NICOLAS CAGE CHAPTER PACK at the same time on Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Epic Games Store, Windows Store and Nintendo Switch.
