Rue Morgue’s CineMacabre Movie Nights celebrates WiHM with “DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK”

Rue Morgue is celebrating Women in Horror Month with a screening of the Soska Sisters’ debut feature DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK! Wednesday, February 21, 8 PM – 10 PM exclusively at The Royal Cinema – Toronto (608 College Street, Toronto, Ontario M6G 1B4)

On a seemingly innocuous afternoon in Vancouver, four friends discover the body of a dead sex worker in the trunk of their car. Badass (Sylvia Soska), Geek (Jen Soska), Junkie (Rikki Gagne), and Goody Two-Shoes (CJ Walls) are tasked with disposing the body and solving the crime, before winding up in the line of fire themselves – evading tenacious police offers, a sleazy motel manager, chainsaw wielding maniacs, and worst of all, the bloodthirsty Cowboy Pimp.

Written/directed/produced by and starring identical twin sisters Jen and Sylvia Soska, Dead Hooker in a Trunk is a vicious first feature from the pair who would go on to become powerhouse voices in the Canadian horror scene with the acclaimed American Mary, and their annual Massive Blood Drive, which occurs every February as part of Women in Horror Month. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to catch their feature debut on the big screen!

Content warning: This film contains explicit scenes that may be triggering or upsetting to some viewers.
