Scream Queen Raises Covid-19 Relief

In these troubled times, Instagram has become a lifeline for both its entertainment value and usefulness in getting the word out about Covid-19 and those affected by it. Savvy stars like Catherine Corcoran have taken to the platform to share their craft and help others.

Making the most of her time with a captive (i.e. quarantined) audience, the actress has been raising funds for those impacted by the epidemic with “Literature with Catherine.” Known for her appearances in 2016’s TERRIFIER and Troma’s RETURN TO NUKE ‘EM HIGH series, Corcoran uses Instagram Live to read bedtime stories—complete with hysterical commentary—to viewers, while encouraging everyone to do their part by staying home and donating to select aid organizations. Corcoran states: “I think love and laughter is the best medicine, right now. We can’t control these circumstances, but we are still present. We can still connect and we can still encourage each other.” Friends of the actress, including former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho and Emmy Award-winning director Erik Bloomquist, have made appearances to show support.

“Literature with Catherine” airs 10pm EST thrice, weekly and can be viewed at www.instagram.com/instacatherinec
