Timely terrors to be seen in “THE ISOLATION HORRORS”; teaser trailers & poster released

As worldwide lockdowns continue, independent filmmakers are tapping into the current anxiety, including five who have contributed to a short horror anthology set to premiere next week.

London-based, award-winning director/cinematographer Nicolai Kornum has masterminded THE ISOLATION HORRORS, which was produced over the past two months by the team as they individually sheltered in their homes. The synopsis: “After finding a bloody face mask in the street during an epidemic outbreak, a concerned neighbour [Kornum] calls his home-isolating friends to check on them. Meanwhile, the friends are experiencing their own horrors in their homes during lockdown.” Kornum’s “The Bloody Face Mask” segment serves as the framing story for the 25-minute omnibus, which also contains Emma Dark’s “Goryō,” Richard Markworth’s “Across The Landing,” John Whitaker’s “Anomalous” (pictured above) and M.W. Daniels’ “Ghosting Isolation.”

The filmmakers collaborated remotely during production, creating their shorts under the following guidelines: 1. Shoot in your place of isolation; 2. Shoot on your phone; 3. Make it horror. Using their limited resources and equipment, the five directors came up with a varied range of concepts and styles. You can see them all when THE ISOLATION HORRORS debuts on YouTube next Friday, April 24 at 9 p.m. GMT/5 p.m. EST/2 p.m. PST; bookmark this link https://youtu.be/kJa7mSnxhs8 and check out a pair of teaser trailers below.
