There’s supernatural menace and Nazis in “THE HOUSE”; details, trailer, art

Norway stakes another claim in the fright field with THE HOUSE (a.k.a. HUSET), which sees U.S. release next month. Read on for the info, trailer and artwork.

Artsploitation Films releases THE HOUSE on DVD and digital HD (including iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Vudu and others) March 5. Reinert Kiil (CHRISTMAS BLOOD) wrote and directed the movie, which stars Frederik von Lüttichau, Mats Reinhardt, Sondre Krogtoft Larsen and Evy Kasseth Røsten. The synopsis: “In the frozen wilderness of Norway during WWII, two German soldiers escort a Norwegian soldier and prisoner of war, but the weather is taking a toll on them. They find an empty house near the forest where they finally can get some rest. However, what seems to be a warm and welcoming shelter turns much more sinister and deadly. They begin to wonder if they have somehow stepped into a sort of psychological hell from which there may be no escape.”

The DVD will present the movie in 2.35:1 widescreen, with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound in English and German & Norwegian with English subtitles. Special features are:

  • Audio commentary by director Reinert Kiil
  • Interview with Reinert Kiil
  • Behind-the-scenes featurette
  • Kiil’s short film THE VOICE OF ONE’S CONSCIENCE (SAMVITTIGHETENS RØST)
