Full Moon Features has just announced that CASSEX, the sultry, two-part erotic thriller film from director Lindsey Schmitz (Femalien: Cosmic Crush) will premiere on June 18th, exclusively on the Full Moon Features app and streaming platform, and will debut across Amazon Prime Video, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google Play and Xbox One, soon after on June 28th.
Haunted by an ’80s sex film icon, the film follows a married couple who is suddenly transported to an erotic dimension where anything is possible. Is it real, or reel? Is it fantasy…or is it Cassex? In the tradition of Full Moon’s popular couples-friendly erotica label Surrender Cinema and from the director of Femalien: Cosmic Crush, comes a sultry thriller that’s sure to wind you up!
Featuring A-list talent from the adult entertainment industry, CASSEX stars Lexi Luna, Jayden Cole, Anna Claire Clouds, Jazmin Luv, and Lauren Phillips. “Chock full of 80s throwbacks and occult esoterica, Cassex is a batshit super-orgy unlike anything captured on film,” says director, Lindsey Schmitz. “Let’s get metaphysical!”

I feel like you buried the lead on this one (or it might not be public knowledge!), but the screenplay for CASSEX has been floating around Full Moon since at least the early Nineties, maybe even earlier … and it was originally written by Gregory Widen, a.k.a., the creator of HIGHLANDER, THE PROPHECY and BACKDRAFT.
You know your Empire Pictures history! Yes, it was a well documented production, with an ad in Variety (Wed. May 1st, 1985 issue) and Widen was certainly attached to the project according to the existing press and artwork. Sadly, any documents of whatever he wrote – be it treatment, partial or complete screenplay, etc. – have been lost to the ages. So, I had to start from scratch on the script.
If you find anything he wrote on this, please contact us at Full Moon! Maybe we could roll it into a future episode!
Let’s just say that you and I have worked for the same employer at different times. 😉
I only know about it because, when *I* was working for said employer, there was a lot of discussion about making it (mainly due to Widen’s success on his subsequent projects, obviously) and I got the impression there was actually a finished script that was sitting around somewhere at Full Moon. It may have even been suggested as a Torchlight production at some point (which should be a hint as to who you should talk to about it).
