What went down in the Dakota before its famous cinematic tenant moved in? This movie, from an acclaimed filmmaker, will show you.

Paramount+ has announced that APARTMENT 7A will premiere this fall exclusively on the streamer in the U.S. and select international markets. The 1965-set prequel to the classic chiller ROSEMARY’S BABY was directed by Natalie Erika James of the much-praised RELIC, from a script by James, Christian White and Skyler James, based on the latter’s screen story. The producers are the QUIET PLACE team of Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, John Krasinski and Allyson Seeger, and it stars Julia Garner (WE ARE WHAT WE ARE), Dianne Wiest, Jim Sturgess, Kevin McNally, Marli Siu (ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE), Andrew Buchan, Rosy McEwen and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith. The synopsis: “When a struggling young dancer [Garner] suffers a devastating injury, she finds herself drawn in by dark forces when a peculiar, well-connected, older couple promises her a shot at fame.”

“APARTMENT 7A is the perfect way to kick off the Halloween season,” says Jeff Grossman, Paramount+ executive vice president of programming. “Director Natalie Erika James and the prodigious creative team have crafted a chilling and clever new entry into the genre.”
