Stephen King’s rabid dog will bark once more on screen.

Deadline reports that Netflix is planning a second, feature-length screen version of King’s 1981 novel CUJO. Roy Lee, whose many genre credits include the King projects DOCTOR SLEEP, the IT duo and the recent reboot of SALEM’S LOT, is producing, and is currently seeking a writer; no director has been set yet. King’s tale of a woman and her young son trapped in broken-down car and besieged by a rabid St. Bernard was previously filmed in 1983 (pictured above), with Lewis Teague directing and Dee Wallace and Danny Pintauro starring. Netflix’s previous ventures into King territory have included Mike Flanagan’s GERALD’S GAME, Vincenzo Natali’s IN THE TALL GRASS and Zak Hilditch’s 1922.
