The time has come for the annual RONDO HATTON CLASSIC HORROR AWARDS, and RUE MORGUE has picked up nods across several categories. Now in its 23rd installment, the Rondos honor the most prolific works and creators across the wild world of horror entertainment, and the best part is that all voting is in the hands of the greatest community in all of fandom: horror enthusiasts.

Voting is quick and bloodless – simply copy and paste your recommendations from the official ballot or just write your answers in an email and send them to David Colton at taraco@aol.com by Sunday night at midnight, April 20th, 2025.

RUE MORGUE is recognized across the following:

BEST MAGAZINE OF 2024

BEST ARTICLE
“Dawn of the Women,” by Dejan Ognjanovic, RUE MORGUE #219. Women directors often see horror in whole new ways.

“It Came from Bowen’s Basement,” by John Bowen

Each category also offers the option for write-in candidates, so if there’s a member of the RUE CREW whose work made your hair stand on end last year, show ‘em some love with a nomination for BEST WRITER OF 2024.

Remember, polling for the 23rd Annual RONDO HATTON CLASSIC HORROR AWARDS ends on midnight, April 20th, 2025. Be sure to get your votes in now!

Kevin Hoover
Ever since watching CREEPSHOW as a child, Kevin Hoover has spent a lifetime addicted to horror (and terrified of cockroaches). He wholeheartedly believes in the concept of reanimating the dead if only we’d give it the old college try, and thinks FRIDAY THE 13th PART V is the best in the franchise. Aside from writing “Cryptid Cinema Chronicles” for Rue Morgue, he’s been a working copywriter for over a decade and you’ve probably bought something with his words on it. He also believes even the worst movie can be improved with buckets of gore.
