“HUMANIST VAMPIRE” and more take Boston Underground Film Festival awards

The 2024 Boston Underground Film Festival concluded on Sunday, and the winners of the fest’s annual Bacchus Awards have been announced. It was a strong lineup of features and shorts this year, and those named as the very best were:

Audience Choice Award: Best of Fest Feature

Audience Choice Award: Best Debut Feature
OFF RAMP, dir. Nathan Tape

Audience Choice Award: Best of Fest Short
THE THAW, dir. Sarah Wisner and Sean Temple

Best New England Film (David Kleiler Memorial Award)
STRANGE KINDNESS, dir. Joseph Mault

Director’s Choice: Best Short
LIPSTICK & LIGHT BULBS, dir. Tamara Hernandez

Director’s Choice: Best Feature
WITH LOVE AND A MAJOR ORGAN, dir. Kim Albright
