The historical horror epic is finally getting its hi-def disc due next month.
Shout! Factory releases a two-disc Collector’s Edition Blu-ray edition of the 2001 French hit BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF under the Scream Factory banner July 27. Directed by Christophe Gans (SILENT HILL) from a script he wrote with Stéphane Cabel, and based on the true 18th-century saga of the Beast of Gévaudan, it stars Samuel Le Bihan, Mark Dacascos, Jeremie Renier, Vincent Cassel, Émilie Dequenne and Monica Bellucci. The synopsis: “In a rural province of France, a mysterious creature is laying waste to the countryside, savagely killing scores of women and children. Unseen, possessed of enormous strength and a human intelligence, the beast has eluded capture for years. King Louis sends in a renowned scientist and his Iroquois blood brother, an unconventional team whose combined methods and capabilities may bring the beast down. But the true nature of the beast is not what anyone could have anticipated.”
