An intriguing cast of familiar genre faces is taking part in this dystopian action-thriller.
The BOY KILLS WORLD team has announced that Famke Janssen (pictured, from LORD OF ILLUSIONS, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, etc.), Sharlto Copley (DISTRICT 9) and Brett Gelman (STRANGER THINGS) have been cast as the antagonistic Van Der Koy family. In addition, the young incarnation of the title role will be played by twins Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti, soon to be see opposite Naomi Watts in the GOODNIGHT MOMMY remake, and Quinn Copeland has been cast as Mina. They join Bill Skarsgård (IT), who plays the grown-up Boy, Yayan Ruhian (THE RAID: REDEMPTION), Jessica Rothe (the HAPPY DEATH DAY duo), Andrew Koji and Isaiah Mustafa. German filmmaker Moritz Mohr makes his feature directoria debut on BOY KILLS WORLD, and his original idea was turned into a script by Arend Remmers and Tyler Burton Smith (CHILD’S PLAY 2019). The synopsis: “BOY KILLS WORLD is a one-of-a-kind action spectacle set in a dystopian fever dream reality. Boy is a deaf mute with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, Boy escapes to the jungle and is trained by a mysterious shaman [Ruhian] to repress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death.”
“BOY KILLS WORLD is rich with unique and exciting characters,” says producer Alex Lebovici of Hammerstone Studios. “The cast we’ve assembled is a tremendous lineup of talent who are perfect for the roles they have taken on. We look forward to collaborating with them and bringing this story to life.” Also on the producing team are Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi of Raimi Productions, Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee, Simon Swart and Wayne Fitzjohn of Nthibah Pictures, Stuart Manashil and Dan Kagan.
