Celebrate 90 Years Of A Universal Monsters Classic With Vixen’s “BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN” Capsule Collection

James Whale‘s seminal 1935 sequel to the 1931 blockbuster Frankenstein was the high-water mark for Universal‘s classic monster cycle and one of the greatest films ever made. Seamlessly blending fright, camp and subtext, THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN firmly established Carl Laemelle’s studio as Hollywood’s house of horror. Now, thanks to designer Micheline Pitt’s female-owned fashion label, Vixen, latter-day monster kids can wear their love of the movie and Elsa Lanchester‘s iconic turn as Boris Karloff‘s would-be bride with an all-new collection, just in time for the film’s 90th anniversary.

Hot on the heels (fins?) of last summer’s successful Creature From the Black Lagoon line comes Vixen’s THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN Capsule Collection. Combining “cinematic horror with contemporary craftsmanship,” available items include:

A fully sculpted Frankenstein Monster Crossbody Bag, created in the image of  Karloff’s iconic creature

Printed vintage movie poster sweatshirts and totes using original historic theatrical release artwork from the Universal archives

Vintage souvenir-style knit tops featuring both the Bride and Frankenstein’s Monster, drawn by Micheline Pitt

And the “crown jewel” of the collection: a replica-inspired BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN Bandage “Wiggle and Swing” Dresses and matching Bolero Jacket, designed as a modern tribute to the Bride’s on-screen costume and unmistakable silhouette

“This collaboration brings to life the timeless allure of Universal Monsters with fashion that is both nostalgic and wearable,” Pitt says. “From bold graphics to sculptural silhouettes, this collection captures the haunting romance, tragedy, and beauty that defines THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN and Frankenstein’s Monster … We’re committed to making high-quality pieces that can be worn and loved for years. This isn’t fast fashion. It’s collectible couture for horror fans who want to wear their love of cinema on their sleeve.”
