Some familiar genre faces are part of the ensemble.
Blue Creek Pictures and The Barnum Picture Company have announced that their film DEVOTED, now in postproduction, stars Mena Suvari (2024’s PREY, WHAT LIES BELOW), Skeet Ulrich (SCREAM), fright veteran Lin Shaye, Elizabeth Marvel, Alicia Sanz and Nick Stahl (FEAR THE WALKING DEAD). Writer/director Richard J. Bosner makes his feature debut on the movie, based on the short DEVOTEE, which premiered at the 2024 Hollyshorts Film Festival and was an official selection of the 2024 Beyond Fest. The synopsis: “When a woman [Suvari] takes guardianship of her estranged sister [Marvel], the sole survivor of a recent mass cult suicide, her joy at their reunion soon turns to terror as her sister’s influence twists her and her husband’s [Ulrich] life into a waking nightmare.
“DEVOTED weaves my passion for classic horror and the occult into a suspenseful exploration of fear and the extraordinary lengths one will go to protect those they hold dear. This story was brought to life by an exceptional cast, whose talent and dedication add terrifying authenticity.” Bosner was previously a producer on the likes of Ryan Coogler’s FRUITVALE STATION and Axelle Carolyn’s THE MANOR, and produced DEVOTED with Robert Ogden Barnum, Eric Binns and Carissa Knol.
