If you missed the limited-edition boxed set, you can still rock out with the ’80s cult fave on disc.
Red Shirt Home Video and Synapse Films are making their special edition of 1986’s heavy-metal horror opus TRICK OR TREAT—issued last month in a three-disc set that quickly sold out—available on separate 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD editions, streeting March 11, 2025. The UHD and Blu-ray (both region-free) feature the 4K restoration from the original camera negative, mastered in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and presented in 1080p respectively, while the DVD contains an anamorphic widescreen presentation. Special features on the UHD and Blu-ray are:
- Audio commentary by director Charles Martin Smith, moderated by filmmaker Mark Savage
- Audio interviews with writer/producer Michael S. Murphey and writer Rhet Topham, moderated by film historian Michael Felsher
- Audio conversation with Paul Corupe and Allison Lang, authors of SATANIC PANIC: POP-CULTURAL PARANOIA IN THE 1980S
