Exclusive photos, plus poster, teaser and release news: Joe Bob Briggs in “CRYPTIDS”

The long-in-the-works horror anthology is now available on disc.

Scream Team Releasing sent along the pics seen above and below, along with the poster for CRYPTIDS, to mark the occasion of its release. Joe Bob Briggs as radio personality Harlan Dean hosts this collection of terror tales, with segments directed by Brett DeJager (BONEJANGLES), Max Groah (BONG OF THE LIVING DEAD), cinematographer Zane Hershberger, John William Holt (THE DOOMS CHAPEL HORROR), effects creator Robert Kuhn, Billy Pon (CIRCUS OF THE DEAD) and Justin M. Seaman (THE BARN and THE BARN PART II). The synopsis: “Major Harlan Dean is the host of the widely popular radio show THE TRUTH SERUM, a platform on which he discusses all things weird, unknown, and sometimes scary. On tonight’s broadcast, Harlan tackles the topic of Cryptozoology to coincide with the annual Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. However, with each caller, something more sinister appears to be waiting in the shadows, and this could end up being Harlan’s very last broadcast.”

CRYPTIDS played a number of festivals last year, nabbing several awards:

  • Jury Award, Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest 2023
  • Best Horror Film, Genre Blast Film Festival 2023
  • Best Special FX, Genre Blast Film Festival 2023
  • Best Horror Comedy, Nightmares Film Festival 2023
  • Best Monsters, Midwest Monster Fest 2023
  • Best Poster, Days of the Dead International Film Fest 2024
