The English-language feature just wrapped its under-the-radar shoot in Serbia.
Deadline reports that Focus Features pre-bought worldwide distribution rights to YOU WON’T BE ALONE, the feature writing/directing debut of award-winning short filmmaker Goran Stolevski. Noomi Rapace (pictured, from PROMETHEUS and THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO), Anamaria Marinca, Alice Englert, Carloto Cotta, Félix Maritaud and Sara Klimoska star; Kristina Ceyton (THE BABADOOK, THE NIGHTINGALE) and Sam Jennings (CARGO) are the producers. The synopsis: “Set in an isolated mountain village in 19th century Macedonia, pic follows a young witch who is left to go feral in the woods. Curious about life as a human, she accidentally kills a peasant in the village, then takes her shape to see what life is like in her skin. This ignites her deep-seated curiosity to experience life inside the bodies of others.” As a result, the role of the witch will be played by several different actors.
