BLACK FAWN FILMS AND BREAKTHROUGH ENTERTAINMENT JOIN FORCES AGAIN IN “THE OAK ROOM”

A man walks into a bar. But in THE OAK ROOM, the results are far from funny. This character-driven gothic thriller film set in the bleakness of northern Canada is wrapping up principal photography in Burlington, Ontario this month. It is the tenth and latest film to be borne of the partnership between Black Fawn Films and Breakthrough Entertainment.

Originally a celebrated Fringe play, director/producer Cody Calahan (ANTISOCIAL) worked with playwright Peter Genoway to bring this story to the screen. In true Canadian horror fashion, it starts one snow-stormy night in a small northern town bar. From the cold enters a drifter, who has just returned to his hometown. Aiming to settle a score with the acerbic bartender, he tells him a story; a wild ride filled with violence, mistaken identities, and wrong turns.

Aiming to hit the festival circuit in 2020, this film has packed some heavy hitters, including RJ Mitte (BREAKING BAD), Peter Outerbridge (SUICIDE SQUAD) and rising star Ari Millen (I’LL TAKE YOUR DEAD).
