Fans who catch the psychochiller will also get the first look at the STEAMBOAT WILLIE-derived fright flick.
STREAM, the multiple-murderer shocker directed by TERRIFIER 2 producer Michael Leavy with FX by TERRIFIER franchise creator Damien Leone (see more details here), arrives in theaters across the U.S. and Canada August 21 via Iconic Events Releasing. Now word has come down that it will be accompanied by an exclusive teaser trailer for SCREAMBOAT, the horror/comedy taking advantage of the Mickey Mouse-starrer STEAMBOAT WILLIE entering the public domain. Steven LaMorte (THE MEAN ONE) directed, and he and Leavy were producers along with Amy Schumacher, Martine Melloul, Steven LaMorte, Steven Della Salla.
David Howard Thornton, the TERRIFIER saga’s Art the Clown, plays the title role, and the cast also includes Allison Pittel, Amy Schumacher, Jesse Posey, Jesse Kove, Rumi C Jean-Louis, Jarlath Conroy (George A. Romero’s DAY OF THE DEAD) and Charles Edwin Powell. Christian Beckman’s Quantum Creation FX, Inc. (THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER) handled the creature creations, designed by concept artist Christian Cordella. The synopsis: “The film follows a group of New Yorkers on a late-night ferry ride that turns deadly when a mischievous and murderous mouse begins a rampage, targeting unsuspecting passengers. What starts as a relaxing commute quickly spirals into a nightmarish fight for survival.”
“I’m thrilled to unveil the first teaser for SCREAMBOAT in theaters with STREAM,” LaMorte says. “Working with David Howard Thornton again has been incredible, and I can’t wait for audiences to see our mischievous take on Steamboat Willie. This teaser is just a taste of the terror and laughs to come.”
