Following the worldwide success of the zombie action/horror epic TRAIN TO BUSAN (pictured), writer/director Yeon Sang-ho ventures into the paranormal with PSYCHOKINESIS, one of three Korean films just acquired by Netflix.

Variety reports that Netflix will give PSYCHOKINESIS a global streaming release in 2018, along with theatrical release in Korea; U.S. big-screen play, if any, has not been confirmed. PSYCHOKINESIS is about a man who discovers that he has psychic superpowers and uses them to save his troubled daughter. The cast includes TRAIN TO BUSAN’s Jung Yu-mi, Shim Eun-kyung and Ye Soo-jung, Ryu Seung-ryong (who did voice work on Yeon’s animated undead film SEOUL STATION) and Kim Do-yoon from Na Hong-jin’s THE WAILING. The other features Netflix picked up from Korean sales outfit Contents Panda are Yan Woo-seok’s political thriller STEEL RAIN and Kim Hong-sun’s crime drama THE CHASE. The streaming network also previously released Contents Panda’s postapocalyptic actioner PANDORA and both financed and distributed Bong Joon-ho’s creature fantasy OKJA.
