She faces peril from her own peers in the second of Netflix’s three-movie series.

Debuting this Friday, July 9 on the streamer, FEAR STREET PART 2: 1978 jumps back in time from PART 1: 1994 (reviewed here) to shed more light on the frightening secrets of the town of Shadyside. The synopsis: “School’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.” Leigh Janiak (HONEYMOON) directed all three films, and scripted PART 2: 1978 with Zak Olkewicz; the cast also includes Emily Rudd, Ryan Simpkins (SURVEILLANCE, ANGUISH), McCabe Slye, Ted Sutherland, Jordana Spiro and Gillian Jacobs. PART 3: 1666 follows on July 16.
