Hot on the news that Daniel Goldhaber’s CAM has won a pair of awards at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival, where it made its world premiere, comes word that it has been picked up for distribution.

Variety reports that Netflix has grabbed CAM, with release plans yet to be announced. A production of Blumhouse, Gunpowder & Sky and Divide/Conquer, the movie was scripted by Isa Mazzei, based on her own experiences as an on-line “cam girl.” Madeline Brewer (THE HANDMAID’S TALE, BRAID) stars as Alice, who does erotic on-line shows using the name Lola. When she discovers that her channel has been taken over by an exact duplicate of herself, her life becomes a sometimes surreal nightmare as she fights to reclaim her identity. The cast also includes Patch Darragh, Melora Walters, Devin Druid, Michael Dempsey and Samantha Robinson (THE LOVE WITCH).
