The star of this week’s romantic comedy ANYONE BUT YOU takes a trip to the dark side here.
Neon has announced that it has grabbed U.S. rights to IMMACULATE, starring Sydney Sweeney, who rose to fame in series like THE WHITE LOTUS and EUPHORIA and also has genre fare like ALONG CAME THE DEVIL, THE HORDE and John Carpenter’s THE WARD in her background. Michael Mohan, who previously guided Sweeney in the Amazon Original Movie THE VOYEURS, directed from a script by Andrew Lobel; Sweeney also produced with Jonathan Davino, David Bernad, Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler. Simona Tabasco, Alvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli and Dora Romano also star in IMMACULATE, which wrapped earlier this year and will see theatrical release in 2024. The synopsis: “The film follows Cecilia [Sweeney], a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent. Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is soon interrupted as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbors some dark and horrifying secrets.”
