Tomorrow is the 126th anniversary of the infamous Lizzie Borden murders, and to mark the occasion, a new trailer has been released this morning for LIZZIE, an updated take on the story coming to theaters next month. Have a look at it after the jump.
Chloë Sevigny stars in the title role of LIZZIE, which chops its way into select theaters September 14 from Roadside Attractions. Inspired by the ax murders of the Borden family in Fall River, MA in 1892, the film was directed by Craig William Mcneill (2015’s THE BOY, CHANNEL ZERO) from a script by Bryce Kass, and also stars Kristen Stewart, Jamey Sheridan, Fiona Shaw, Kim Dickens, Denis O’Hare and Jeff Perry. The synopsis: “After a lifetime of loneliness, Lizzie finds a kindred spirit in housemaid Bridget Sullivan [Stewart] and their secret intimacy sparks an unthinkable act. Director Craig William Macneill explores the days leading up to the savage crimes in a dark tale of repression, exploitation and thwarted dreams.” Follow the movie at its official website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
