The reinvention of the classic creature just began shooting in Ireland.

Blumhouse has reported that Spanish actress Laia Costa (VICTORIA, PIERCING, LULLABY) has taken a lead role in THE MUMMY, opposite the recently announced Jack Reynor. Lee Cronin, who delivered a solid take on the Deadites with EVIL DEAD RISE, is the writer/director, with Blumhouse, James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Cronin’s Doppelgängers company producing. The storyline for the new MUMMY is currently being kept under wraps (appropriately enough); as we first revealed here, WOLF MAN’s Arjen Tuiten is creating the makeup effects. New Line Cinema releases THE MUMMY April 17, 2026.
