Exclusive: “WOLF MAN” makeup master takes on Lee Cronin’s “THE MUMMY”

The Oscar-nominated artist is digging into another classic creature.

While speaking to RUE MORGUE about his work on Universal and Blumhouse’s WOLF MAN (that interview is coming soon), special makeup and prosthetics creator Arjen Tuiten (pictured above with WOLF star Christopher Abbott) revealed that he’s encoring on another horrific revival for Blumhouse and Atomic Monster. “I’m starting on THE MUMMY,” he says of the film being written and directed by EVIL DEAD RISE’s Lee Cronin and set for an April 17, 2026 release by New Line Cinema. “I’ve been talking with Lee and designing since November, and I’ve read the script and it’s good! I can’t say any more than that; I’m not allowed to talk about it right now, unfortunately.” Well, this news is good enough for us for the moment; we can’t wait to see what Tuiten (who got his Academy Award noms for MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL and WONDER) comes up with for the age-old Egyptian menace.

WOLF MAN opens in theaters this Friday, and you can see our review here.
