The supernatural horror film has set a premiere later this summer.
Writer/director Rick Danford is wrapping up postproduction on his new feature THE CLOCK, which will have its premiere Sunday, August 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Cinema 6 in Port Richey, Florida. Aimee Rolfsen, Shawn Ray, Kaitlyn Kemp, D’Andre Noire, Krista Grotte Saxon and Alexis Baca star; the synopsis: “After Mike [Ray] and Sara [Rolfsen] bring home a grandfather clock, strange and frightening things begin to happen. As the incidents become more sinister, they learn that their clock may be much more than they bargained for.”
“I came up with the idea because I was always a huge fan of old-time radio shows,” Danford tells RUE MORGUE. “There were so many that had great stories that I always thought would be great horror movies, and I wrote THE CLOCK based on one of those stories. We of course had to update it and expand upon the story, as the radio show was only about 30 minutes long. We had a very small budget, but with the amazing team we had behind the camera and the great acting we had in front of it, I believe the film will look like it had a much bigger budget.
“The main location we used was an actual haunted house in the historic community of Brooksville, Florida,” he continues. “After its premiere, THE CLOCK is off on a short film festival run while seeking distribution. Our goal is to find the best possible deal we can to recoup our budget and give the movie a chance to be seen by the most people it can. We want to use THE CLOCK as a way to show local investors what we can do with a small budget, and hope to turn it into an opportunity to bring more horror films to life.”
And we’re looking forward to his next project, YARD SALE MASSACRE, which he’s set to shoot in November! Find out more about THE CLOCK at its official website.
