The star and one of the filmmakers have updated us on the holiday horror/comedy.

Writer/producer/director P.J. Starks sent along the exclusive pics seen here from NEW FEARS EVE, which we last reported on here. Eric Huskisson is also a director and producer on the project, and the producing team additionally includes stars Felissa Rose, Dave Sheridan and FINAL DESTINATION creator Jeffrey Reddick. Also in the cast are V/H/S’ Hannah Fierman (pictured above), Lily Claire Harvey, Jay Woolston, Alyssa Rhoads, Roni Jonah and Turner Vaughn, with Jesse MacDonald playing The Doctor, the movie’s maniac. The synopsis: “As the coming year approaches, three best friends reluctantly prepare for Hooper Industries’ annual New Year’s Eve bash. The clock ticks down and the body count rises as a psychotic murderer known as The Doctor is on the loose. This sadistic surgeon of death leaves Owensboro covered in blood as local police and FBI are forced to navigate through a maze of bodies left in his wake. Unbeknownst to the three best friends, their mandatory party is about to turn deadly when the killer sets his sights on them. December 31 becomes a party to die for when Leslie, Brian, Moses and their colleagues are trapped inside an inescapable building with a bloodthirsty madman hell bent on carving his way to midnight.”

“The set of NEW FEARS EVE was a bubbling oil-slick rainbow puddle of madness, the likes of which I hope to step in again,” Fierman tells us. “Horror fans can expect scares, with a completely original voice and sense of humor.”

Says Starks, “This production has been an incredible whirlwind. This film marks a couple of milestones for Blood Moon Pictures: It’s our first single narrative feature and the first time we’ve ever worked with so many notable name actors and/or horror icons. It’s also our first real foray into comedy. I know certain horror lovers have a hard time stomaching humor mixed into their scares, but hopefully they’ll give our film a chance. I’m a massive fan of the slasher subgenre; therefore, conceiving a brand new masked killer has been very cool. NEW FEARS EVE has a substantial kill count with 30-plus bodies, nearly all with their own unique onscreen deaths. We’re big proponents of practical effects work, so we put our team at Taintbad Productions through their paces. Their work really shines in this flick. What I’m looking forward to the most is everyone having a good time with our film.”
