The movie has now set festival dates in the U.S. and U.K.
Nightfall Pictures shot its vérité fright feature TRANSYLVANIA TAPES entirely in Romania, with Brad Sykes (CAMP BLOOD, PLAGUERS) directing from a script he wrote with producer Josephina Sykes (HI-8, WITHIN THE WOODS). Valeria Badiuc, Ion Haiduc (SUBSPECIES 2-4) and Gabriel Spahiu (HIGH TENSION) star; the synopsis: “TRANSYLVANIA TAPES follows Mara Enescu [Badiuc], a young woman in her 30s who travels from Los Angeles to her home country of Romania to discover the truth about her mother’s disappearance in Transylvania years ago. Together with a cameraman friend, Mara journeys from Bucharest to the birthplace of Dracula himself.”
TRANSYLVANIA TAPES world-premieres at the UK’s Horror-on-Sea Film Festival on June 6. It will then have U.S. screenings at Pittsburgh’s GrossFest (July 31-August 1) and Oklahoma’s Red Fern Reaper Film Festival on October 17, with more to follow.
