Exclusive photos/comments, plus teaser trailer and poster: Video store/slasher homage “THE BOY FROM BELOW”

He’ll be rising soon after a recent sold-out premiere.

The producers of THE BOY FROM BELOW passed on the exclusive pics of Dee Wallace (above) and Felissa Rose (below) from the film, which we last reported on here. Tory Jones directed and wrote the script with Jerron Spencer, based on the title character from his previous THE WICKED ONE, and the cast also includes Spooky Madison, Kamarra Cole, Cameryn Zupon, Douglas Vermeeren, Leah Voysey, Chaney Morrow, Richie Ramone, Tommy Lee Wallace and Jack Norman as the movie’s maniac. The synopsis: “The sleepy New England town of Carpenter Falls is known for being the hometown of silver screen legend Marilyn Leigh Miller. As Halloween season arrives, an obsessed psychopath looks to pay tribute to the late B-movie scream queen by living out his own horror movie fantasies. Caught in the madness is local video store clerk Quinn Curtis [Madison] and her gang of movie-loving friends whose knowledge of the genre may be their key to survival.”

“Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the premiere,” P.J. Starks, one of the producers, tells RUE MORGUE, “but everyone I’ve spoken with had a blast with the film. Tory has created a very cool, brutal and slick horror-slasher that seems to resonate with slice-and-dice fans.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to release this film to the world!” Jones says. “The turnout and reception from the premiere was great, and we have several additional screenings coming up at horror conventions in the coming months. I think for fans of the era of the video store and a sort of old-school feel, this film has all the right ingredients. It’s scary, it’s gory, it’s story-driven and it has its share of laughs. I hope people dig it.”
