In one of the most unexpected genre developments in years, legendary singer and actress Cher and her son Chaz Bono will be executive producing LITTLE BITES, the latest horror film from OneFox Productions (aka Powerman 5000 frontman Spider One and filmmaker and actress Krsy Fox). The Hollywood Reporter recently broke the news of the iconic Goddess of Pop’s participation.
However, RUE MORGUE readers got the scoop on the film’s multi-generational cast of scream queens, which includes Fox, Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator), Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Bonnie Aarons (The Nun) and up-and-comer Elizabeth Phoenix Caro when the couple recently spoke with Online Managing Editor William J. Wright. Chaz Bono, whose genre credits include OneFox Productions’ Bury the Bride, Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell and American Horror Story, also co-stars.
We reached out to Krsy Fox and Spider One for comment:
“LITTLE BITES is by far my most personal film. Parenthood as horror. Life itself as a monster. Protection of your child by any means necessary. It’s a dark road that I’m ready to head down – and the fact that this legendary cast, my creative partner Krsy Fox and our producing team trusts me to take the wheel is somewhat unbelievable,” Spider One says, adding, “If you told me a year ago that the likes of Cher, Heather Lagenkamp, Barbara Crampton and Bonnie Aarons would be mentioned alongside myself, I’d think you had gone mad. Yet somehow, it is true.”
“As a girl who grew up inspired and fascinated by the horror genre, I can’t believe I am going to be working with such legends. The films that these women have been a part of shaped my love for being scared. I’m going to take in every moment on this set, and as I always do, try to learn something new from each incredible performer. Having Cher come on board and the immense amount of respect we all have for her and her career makes it almost unbelievable. Not to mention as an actress and performer I look up to her in such a huge way,” states Fox. “Chaz and I have become best friends, and I can’t wait to work on our second film together, as well.
I connect to the character Mindy quite possibly more than any other role I’ve ever played. I am raising a young daughter, and I know the lengths I would go to protect her. The terror Mindy and her daughter, Alice, face will be hard to watch, but their love is so strong it’s truly the most beautiful part of this movie. Plus, I get to do some really intensely gross scenes (my favorite). Bring on the blood! “
LITTLE BITES begins shooting in Los Angeles later this month. Keep an eye on RUE MORGUE for news and developments.
