In movies, diggers never seem to know when to leave well enough alone, and luckily for folk horror fans, this is again the case in THE MORRIGAN, now available on digital VOD from Cineverse.

Rooted in Gaelic mythology, the new film from director Colum Eastwood (a feature-length expansion of his award-winning 2015 short of the same title) stars Saffron Burrows (Troy, The Bank Job) as an archaeologist who travels to Ireland to uncover an ancient tomb. Inadvertently releasing dark forces within, she must wage a terrifying battle to keep her teenage daughter from the clutches of a vengeful pagan war goddess. Toby Stephens (Die Another Day, Black Sails) and James Cosmo (Braveheart) co-star.

“This film is deeply personal to me, drawing on the stories and landscapes I grew up with,” Eastwood says. “Seeing THE MORRIGAN find a home with Cineverse is incredibly gratifying.”
