SPOOKY EMPIRE, the convention brand that’s been attracting horror fans to Orlando, FL, for over 20 years, is breakin’ loose from its usual haunt and heading up the coast to historic Charleston, SC. From August 23-25, horror celebs will descend upon the beautiful beachfront city for the event’s inaugural trip to the Palmetto State, bringing with them all the camaraderie, exclusive experiences and a Saturday night after-party that Central Floridians have been enjoying since 2003.

Guests currently scheduled to attend include:

  • Malcolm McDowell, star of iconic horror movies such as A Clockwork Orange, 31, Rob Zombie’s Halloween and more
  • Doug Bradley, best known as the lead cenobite Pinhead
  • IT and IT Chapter II stars Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, Jackson Robert Scott, Jaden Martell, Jeremy Ray Taylor and Wyatt Oleff
  • The cast of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors: Heather Langenkamp, Jennifer Rubin, Bradley Gregg, Ken Sagoes, Ira Heiden and Rodney Eastman
  • Terrifier creator Damien Leone, along with Amelie McLain and Art the Clown himself, David Howard Thornton
  • Plus, meet Bill Moseley, John Kassir, Anthrax’s Joey Belladonna, stars from Children of the Corn and more!

In between scoring autographs and photos with celebs, attendees can take in any of the many panels and Q & A sessions. Charleston’s premiere shadow cast troupe, Absent Friends, will also host a live performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Friday night.

One-day and three-day weekend passes are available at a discounted rate when purchased online. A limited number of VIP Packages remain, which allow entry to all three days of the event, as well as fast pass access to celeb booths, exclusive swag and an invitation to the Saturday night after-party.

Ever since watching CREEPSHOW as a child, Kevin Hoover has spent a lifetime addicted to horror (and terrified of cockroaches). He wholeheartedly believes in the concept of reanimating the dead if only we’d give it the old college try, and thinks FRIDAY THE 13th PART V is the best in the franchise. Aside from writing “Cryptid Cinema Chronicles” for Rue Morgue, he’s been a working copywriter for over a decade and you’ve probably bought something with his words on it. He also believes even the worst movie can be improved with buckets of gore.
