Danielle Harris is getting the documentary treatment. Deranged Minds Entertainment has set a feature length documentary chronicling the actor’s rise from child star to one of horror’s most recognizable scream queens, built around her four appearances across the Halloween franchise.
Destinie Orndoff directs and produces, with Tristan Clay serving as co-director and producer. The film draws on archival footage, home videos and new interviews with Harris, her family, friends and collaborators to go beyond her on screen work.
"People think they know Danielle because they grew up watching her," Orndoff said in a statement. "They’ve seen the performances. They’ve never seen what it cost her, and Danielle didn’t hold anything back."
According to the documentary’s official description, the film will also address difficult chapters of Harris’s life that have not been publicly detailed at length before, including her father’s death in a car accident that was never solved, the suicides of a former partner and a close friend, a stalker she says followed her for two decades, and a pregnancy complication she has said once stopped her heart. These accounts come from the production’s own materials rather than independent reporting, so the full details are worth taking with the understanding that they haven’t yet been verified elsewhere.
"I can’t wait for audiences to see this side of her," Clay added.
The untitled documentary is currently in post production and is expected to make the festival rounds sometime in 2027. Harris first entered the franchise as young Jamie Lloyd in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, then returned as an adult in Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II, work that’s kept her a fixture of the fandom for nearly four decades running.
