The independent project, described as “WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS meets LORDS OF CHAOS,” will shoot later this year in New York City.

Music-video producers Part Time Hooligans Productions are gearing up to film their debut feature GOAT SWORD, about “an amateur black metal band that faces gnarly consequences when their alcoholic drummer is turned into a vampire right before their biggest gig yet.” The film, inspired by the Norwegian black metal scene of the early ’90s, was written and will be directed by Ryan Twyford-Rigley, who is also producing with Steph Twyford-Rigley and Ted Geoghegan (BROOKLYN 45, WE ARE STILL HERE). Steph is also the editor and will co-star along with Dave Hill, Jessica Pimentel, Yoni Lotan, Benjamin Frankenberg, Steven Levine and Michael Antonucci.

The team also includes cinematographer Rob Menzer, makeup effects artist Kelly Harris (INSIDIOUS: THE RED DOOR) and costume designer Jolene Marie Richardson (THE LAST DRIVE-IN WITH JOE BOB BRIGGS, CANNIBAL MUKBANG). The Goat Sword logo seen below was created by Christophe Szpajdel, who created the logos for Panos Cosmatos’ MANDY and extreme metal groups such as Emperor, Aborted, Lord Belial, Moonspell, Borknagar, Horna, Tsjuder, Behexen and Melechesh. A crowdfunding campaign will be launched on June 16 through Seed&Spark; you can keep up with the movie at its Instagram, sign up for the mailing list at its webpage and watch this space for further developments!
