Acclaimed youth shocker “PLAYGROUND” sees U.S. release; trailer and poster

After winning raves (including ours) during its festival tour over the last year or so, the Polish chiller PLAYGROUND, which explores the dark and dangerous side of childhood, receives Stateside release this week. Read on for the details and the new trailer and poster.

Uncork’d Entertainment debuts PLAYGROUND on VOD this Friday, December 8 on VOD. Written and directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski, it stars Michalina Swistun, Nicolas Przygoda, Przemyslaw Balinski, Pawel Brandys and Anita Jancia-Prokopowicz. The synopsis: “Final day of school in a small Polish town. It’s the very last chance for 12-year-old Gabrysia to tell her classmate that she had fallen in love with him. She sets up a secret meeting and blackmails her love interest to show up. But what was supposed to be an intimate talk spins out of control and this seemingly normal day in life of three ordinary elementary school students culminates in shocking and terrifying events.”
