No relation to the recent Blumhouse production of the same title, this psychochiller is currently crowdfunding.
Sequanda Films is in preproduction on UNSEEN, writer/director/producer Steve Merlo’s follow-up to THE SAWYER MASSACRE, the first feature-length TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE fan film (which he discussed here). The new movie will star Trinity Chase, fright fave Felissa Rose, Brett Wagner (the first Leatherface in 2003’s TEXAS CHAINSAW remake), voice actor Adam Ginsberg as the “Unseen Man,” Roland Keller, Emily Mayzes, Sarkis Bakalyan, Crystal Gorski, Emily Fraser, Angel Bradford, Bill Russell and Jennifer Beveridge; Thomas Smith of Sick & Twisted FX is creating the makeup effects. The synopsis: “In the aftermath of an unknown disaster, a mentally unstable man attempts to satisfy his conscience while tormenting a woman with an abusive past.”
“UNSEEN was inspired by multiple different things,” Merlo tells RUE MORGUE. “As far as films go, my biggest influence was the original BLACK CHRISTMAS. I wrote down the idea after a nightmare I had where a lot of great things that were happening suddenly changed for the worse. I drew inspiration from some past experiences and past relationships I had as well.”
Merlo and his fellow producers (Adam and Addison Ginsberg of TwitchTwitch Productions, Peter Castro and Alexi Angelino) have launched an Indiegogo campaign for UNSEEN; you can check it out here and see the promo teaser below. “We are raising funds to produce this film at a $100,000 budget,” Merlo says, “but we will make it at any level budget. We’re crowdfunding on Indiegogo and seeking private investors for equity stake to secure the most funds possible to make this film as good as we know it can be. We won’t rush the fundraising process, and will keep filming dates open until we know we have what is needed.” We’ll keep you posted on UNSEEN’s progress!
Thank you Michael for this great article on our film. We are very honoured to be featured in Rue Morgue
