Dee Wallace et al. are part of video-store slasher film “THE BOY FROM BELOW”; info and poster

It’s the latest entry in the Halloween-horror stakes as well.

Filmmaker Tory Jones is currently working on THE BOY FROM BELOW, featuring a reimagining of the title character from his 2017 movie THE WICKED ONE (pictured above). Produced by P.J. Starks (13 SLAYS TILL X-MAS), Roman Jossart and Thomas Wolf, the movie stars Spencer Madison, Kamarra Cole, Cameryn Zupon and Douglas Vermeeren, joined by familiar genre faces Dee Wallace (THE HOWLING, Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN), Felissa Rose (SLEEPAWAY CAMP), Leah Voysey (TERRIFIER 2) and Chaney Morrow (HAUNT, MALUM), as well as Richie Ramone. The synopsis: “Local video store employee and horror nerd Quinn Curtis’ Halloween holiday is thrust into chaos when her friends reunite her with an old flame. The night only worsens when a killer in a scarecrow mask, obsessed with horror movies himself, targets Quinn and her friends for his own twisted game of trick or treat. As the body count rises, his motivations and ties to the town’s past become clear.”

“If I could go back in time and live in any other era,” Jones tells RUE MORGUE, “it would be back to the era of the video store. Movies had a different feel back then with physical media, especially at the mom-and-pop video stores. It was an immersive experience for me every time I was searching the shelves for what to watch next. For me, it was slasher films. So to now be able to introduce a new slasher, and have this all play out mostly around a video store, is super-exciting. To have Dee Wallace, Felissa Rose, Richie Ramone, Chaney Morrow and Leah Voysey joining the team is another reason I’m so excited about the old-school horror movie we are bringing to life.”

The BOY FROM BELOW team are currently in the midst of an Indiegogo campaign whose perks include the chance to share a scene with the cast’s genre veterans. You can check it out here, and watch the pitch video below the poster.
