Trailer and exclusive photo for “ASTONISHING TALES OF TERROR: ROCKTAPUSSY” emerge to grab you

The action/horror/coming hybrid is coming to special-edition Blu-ray next month.

Black Fawn Distribution issued the trailer and passed on the exclusive pic seen above for ASTONISHING TALES OF TERROR: ROCKTAPUSSY (which we first told you about here). Andrew Cymek wrote and directed the movie, which was produced by its star Brigitte Kingsley; the cast also includes Landy Cannon, Sara Mitich, Patrick Kwok-Choon, Troy Blundell, horror veteran Art Hindle (BLACK CHRISTMAS, THE BROOD), David Calderisi, Winny Clarke and Alys Crocker. The synopsis: “ASTONISHING TALES OF TERROR: ROCKTAPUSSY follows a group of everyday heroes after they unwittingly awaken an ancient monster. When intrepid reporter Hunter Hazelton [Kingsley] bumps into down-on-his-luck miner Carey Barnes [Cannon], the duo join a ragtag bunch of survivors as they attempt to fend off mind-controlled zombies, possessed medieval knights, and a gigantic demonic demigod: The Rocktapus!”

Black Fawn will release the limited-edition ROCKTAPUSSY Blu-ray September 27, followed by a Canadian VOD debut. The disc will include audio commentary by the cast and crew, an in-depth behind-the-scenes featurette, a VHS retro-designed slipcase, reversible cover art and three collectible mini-lobby cards featuring artwork inspired by the film. Nicely Entertainment will handle the U.S. VOD release, with a date to be announced. The ROCKTAPUSSY team will attend this weekend’s Fan Expo event at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, with Cymek, Kingsley and several of the cast appearing at the Black Fawn booth and on a “Monsters & Movie Making” panel.
