This Tuesday Will See Vice-Press and Bottleneck Gallery Launch A New Series Of Universal Monster Art Prints

This Tuesday, Vice Press and Bottleneck Gallery will launch a new “limited edition” Universal Monsters series! These officially licensed prints and posters will feature stunning art by Greg Staples.

Staples is a British artist who is best known for work on Magic the Gathering and the comic 2000AD. Staples recently had this to say about the new Universal Monsters series:

‘For me the classic Universal Monster films have been ingrained into me since I was a child, not only with their legendary visual design and makeup but because they are almost not of this world. To me they are the purest form of escapism and something that simply couldn’t be made in this day and age. I decided to approach these illustrations a little differently by choosing to try to add a bit of realism, hopefully to capture a small part of their character so wonderfully portrayed by Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. This really was an honour.

The series kicks off with prints dedicated to Dracula and Frankenstein. These feature Greg’s outstanding paintings that capture Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff in their iconic roles.

These releases will be available in regular “movie poster” edition of 195 pieces priced at £45. The variant “art print” edition will have 175 pieces available and is priced at £50. Both prints measure 24×36 inches. Greg’s original paintings will also be available as “original art prints” with 150 pieces sized at 11.7×16.5 inches. These releases will be available on Vice-Press.com and BottleneckGallery.com at 5pm GMT (UK Time) and 12 pm EST. Worldwide shipping is available.
