“THOSE WHO DESERVE TO DIE” salute you; release details, art, trailer

The latest from independent genre director Bret Wood (PSYCHOPATHIA SEXUALIS, THE UNWANTED) is coming to various video platforms later this summer.

Kino Lorber has announced that THOSE WHO DESERVE TO DIE will be available digitally on KinoNow https://kinonow.com/ and on Blu-ray and DVD August 18. Written and directed by Wood, the film was inspired by Thomas De Quincey’s novella THE AVENGER and classic giallo films and stars Alice Lewis (a.k.a. teen cosplay model “Malice of Alice”), Joe Sykes, Rachel Frawley and Lynn Lowry (SHIVERS, THE CRAZIES, CAT PEOPLE). The synopsis: “Two stories unfold in an idyllic Southern town. A series of gruesome murders occur, committed by a caped figure accompanied by a diabolical young girl [Lewis]. At the same time, an injured war veteran [Sykes] returns to attend college, and becomes emotionally attached to a social worker [Frawley], the daughter of a State Supreme Court Justice [Lowry]. As their relationship intensifies, connections between the victims and the veteran emerge, and Margaret realizes she may have the power to both rescue Jonathan and halt the rising tide of death.”

The Blu-ray (retailing for $29.95) and DVD ($19.95) will include the following bonus features:

  • Deleted scenes
  • Theatrical trailers
  • “Malice of Alice: a Mother/Daughter Portrait”
  • Promotional video
  • SECURITY (2007), a short film by Bret Wood
