Huge “AL ADAMSON: THE MASTERPIECE COLLECTION” Blu-ray boxed set coming from Severin Films

Severin Films, producer of the excellent documentary BLOOD & FLESH: THE REEL LIFE AND GHASTLY DEATH OF AL ADAMSON, is now honoring the prolific B-movie master with an extensive disc package of his horror and other exploitation films.

On April 21, Severin will release AL ADAMSON: THE MASTERPIECE COLLECTION, the biggest Blu-ray boxed set ever devoted to a single genre filmmaker. The 14-disc set compiles 31 of Adamson’s remastered features (including DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN, pictured above, HORROR OF THE BLOOD MONSTERS, NURSE SHERRI and other chillers; see the full list below), plus BLOOD & FLESH, accompanied by audio commentaries, trailers, a 126-page book and more. “Al Adamson worked best on the fringes of Hollywood,” says Severin president/BLOOD & FLESH director David Gregory. “When considering the golden age of drive-in and grindhouse films, he’s truly in a category all his own. It’s an unprecedented legacy that lends itself to what we believe to be the most absurdly compendious box set not only in genre history but—other than Criterion’s INGMAR BERGMAN’S CINEMA collection—quite possibly the annals of home video itself.”

The complete list of films is as follows:

  • ANGELS’ WILD WOMEN
  • BLACK HEAT
  • BLACK SAMURAI
  • BLAZING STEWARDESSES
  • BLOOD & FLESH: THE REEL LIFE & GHASTLY DEATH OF AL ADAMSON
